Peer Counseling

Meeting Location: Rm. 13

Meeting time: Once a week or as needed.
 

Mission Statement: Peer Counselors are committed to helping students to become responsible for their own actions and contributing to a safe, respectful environment at Quincy High.

Goals:

1. Use peaceful resolutions to manage or prevent conflict

2. Counsel peers to guide them towards choices that will meet their basic needs of love and belonging, freedom, power, and fun.

3.Promote effective communication skills

4.Help maintain a safe enjoyable environment at Quincy High

Activities

1. counsel Students grades 6 through 9

2.Do presentations and workshops on choice theory

3.Host intermediate school students during orientation of Quincy before they transfer

4.Host new students to Quincy High.

Requirements to join

1.You must be in 10th 11th or 12th grade

2.Complete and application and receive two Teacher recommondations.

3.Have at least a 2.5 GPA
