Dear Fix It,
One of my best friends is dating my older brother, and now she
is ditching me for him… what should I do to keep our friendship alive?
Please Help,
Oh, brother
Dear Oh, Brother:
Well, I would talk to your friend and tell her how you feel, and also talk to
your brother because he loves and cares about you and he doesn’t want you to
feel hurt. Make a time where you can have "friend time" so that you keep can
keep your friendship alive.
~Fix It~
Dear Fix It,
I am completely lost in life right now. I am overwhelmed with
school, family, friends, and my boyfriend. I don’t have time for all of them,
what should I do to mange my time better?
-Out of Time-
Dear Out of Time,
First off I would get a planner for yourself. That might help you manage your
time better. Talk to your family and friends and see if they have any
suggestions. Maybe set up certain dates and times for you to study, have fun,
and be with your family. Who knows maybe you could hang out with your boyfriend
and you friends and family at the same time.
~Fix it~
If you have any questions you can leave them in the Trojan Times box in the
office next to Mrs. Rodgers.

Booths, money, dances, business, sales,
networking, and uniforms. Put this all together and what do you get? Virtual
Enterprise California State Trade Fair, the largest VE trade fair in the nation
and fifth largest in the world. It was here that Quincy High School’s own Custom
Cruisers made their debut in the California Virtual Enterprise business world.
From November 29th to December 1st this first year team made just under $90,000
in virtual sales, and took a place in the top ten catalog sales competition.
Quincy High’s Virtual Enterprise class is home to the Custom
Cruisers company. Led by Chief Executive Officer Melodie Bennett, this ordinary
classroom has been shaped into an automobile customization and parts company.
Each of the company employees played an important role in the success of the
company in the trade fair. This energetic, innovative group of kids includes;
Melodie Bennett, Josh Carroll, William Diekmann, Evan Franklin, Melissa Hughes,
Cailin Johnson-Smart, Jenna Kuipers, Christina Robbins, Josh Wilken, and our
very own rotary exchange student from Austria, Anna Zauchner.
As part of Virtual Enterprise, the students attend trade fairs,
such as the one in Bakersfield, where they can promote their virtual business
and compete with other virtual enterprise employees. One hundred forty companies
and more than 1,000 employees competed and sold products just as real businesses
would; in a professional and competitive manner.
"The Custom Cruisers staff made me proud, from the moment we left
QHS to the moment we returned." Says advisor Terrie Redkey. Our team was well
organized and first-class throughout the three-day event. The company entered in
the website and placed in the top ten (out of 54) in the catalog sales
competition. Artistic value, creativity, clarity, organization, and ease of
ordering were all part of the grading system
The Virtual Enterprise class prepares students for the working
world in many, many ways. The students learn to become effective communicators,
understand business related career paths, demonstrate cooperative working skills
across gender and cultural groups, exhibit positive self-skills, gain many
important thinking and problem solving skills, and many more skills essential to
the business world.
For more information on the Custom Cruisers, check out their
website at
www.quincytrojan.com/custom_cruisers. In addition, the Virtual Enterprise
team is looking for two more responsible and hard working Junior or Senior
students to join the team. See Mrs. Redkey if you are interested.
