Ipods are now the most popular way to
listen to music. The iPODS seemed to have outdated portable CD players
because you don’t have to change disks when you want to listen to other
songs and other artists.
There are now several different versions of the
iPODS: The iPOD shuffle, iPOD Nano, and the iPOD. The iPOD shuffle comes
with either 512 MB or the 1GB. The shuffle always shuffles the songs you
have on it and never plays them in the same order twice. The 512 MG is 99
dollars while the 1 GB is $129. The iPOD Nano comes in two different forms:
the 2GB or the 4GB. The 2GB holds about 500 songs and the 4GB holds about
1000 songs. Each of them have a color screen and light so you can see the
screen in the dark. The battery of the nano will last up to 14 hours of
straight playing time. The nano can even hold photos.. The 2 GB is 199
dollars and the 4 GB is $249. The iPOD comes with either a 30 GB or 60 GB,
it has 20 hours of straight playing time. Both have colored 2.5-inch
screens. The iPOD can hold up to 25,000 photos and can even play movies. The
30 GB is $299 and the 60 GB is $399.
Soccer
By Mindy Huang
Most people have either played soccer,
whether in P.E. or just for fun or as a sport. If they haven’t, then they
have probably watched a soccer game. Do these people really know about
soccer? Where it began, who started it, and when it started?
It started in England in the middle of 19th century. It was
mainly played at private schools. Clubs started to form at 1855. It was
called ‘football’ at the time. And even now, most countries, except America,
call it football. The Football Association was started in 1863 at London,
and in mid-1880, players were admitted. Later on, the game started to be
played professionally.
Soccer started to spread in the 1870s. By the mid-20th
century, Europe, South America, Middle Eastern, and Asia all had
professional teams and players.
The World Cup was established in 1930 and had been played every four
years since then. Uruguay won the first World Cup. The most recent World Cup
was in 2002, and Brazil won this one. The first women’s World Cup was in
1971. |
Soccer is a fun and exciting game. It is
played all over the world, and it is the most popular game in the
world.
Change your F’s to A’s
By Lance LaBerge
Are your grades plunging, are you being
ridiculed by other students, are you going through the infamous nagging of
your parents to get better grades? Well I have got some tips for you.
First, never wait until the last minute to get work done. Always get rid
of the big assignments. If you don’t, you could end up studying to the last
minute and your grades won’t get a hair higher. A very important tip is to
do your homework right after school and never wait until the last minute to
do it.
If your problem isn’t procrastinating and it is that the work is too
hard, then if you stay after school to get help the work will go by like a
breeze. If staying after school is not what you want then maybe spending
time at lunch would be helpful. If that works for you then you have an
added benefit to do what you want after school with homework out of the way.
The
final and most important tip is to pay attention in class so your tests will
be easier to study for and your homework will be easier to do. Ask your
teachers if they would allow you to do work at different times of the day in
their class. Whatever happens, work very hard and the A’s will come faster
than you think.
