QHS Demonstration Night |

| By
Cory Franklin On Wednesday, April 12th Quincy High School held an unusual, fun, and interactive open house. It was called Demonstration Night. Demonstration night began as students and parents enjoyed an opening FFA ceremony that was held in the cafeteria. The ceremony was headed by the FFA officer team, which included President Sarah Rose, (from left to right) Reporter Amber Downey, VP Kinderlin Mannies, President Sara Rose, Secretary Chris Soars, , Treasurer Mike Wark, Sentinel Maggie Davis, and active member Melissa Hughes. After the ceremony there was an amusing performance from Pink Panther Strikes Again by several students of Mrs. Gallagher’s drama class. Following these performances everyone left the cafeteria to go check out all the classrooms. Demonstrations included Mr. Price’s class where there was a fun game of Jeopardy; parents vs. students. There also was art showcased by Dr. Rubalcava’s art class. Some parents and students learned Spanish lessons in Mrs. Hick’s room where she taught a little bit of Spanish to everyone. Other demonstrations included Ms. Frediani’s Advanced Placement English class. A little punctuation and a lot of the other finer points of English were discussed. In Mr. Gimbel’s class, people learned how to apply algebraic equations to save money in real life. Virtual enterprise set up a virtual shopping spree where visitors accessorized their cars with parts from Custom Cruisers. By expanding on the idea of open house QHS hopes to make more parents involved and informed with what their sons and daughters are doing at Quincy High School. |
